Benin: Indian hemp plantation discovered in Savè, over 30 kg seized

On August 27, 2026, over 30 kg of Indian hemp were seized from a plantation in Atta, Savè, during an operation by the republican police. The agents, under the command of Commissioner Joseph Chabi Wetti, apprehended a man on site, while the main suspected operator was absent. The search revealed 15 kg of already harvested hemp and about 200 kg of plants still growing. Authorities are continuing investigations to establish responsibilities and locate the presumed owner.
