SYECO demands the relocation of Camp Molayi Institute, located near the central prison in Matadi

The Syndicate of Teachers of Congo (SYECO) has called for the relocation of Camp Molayi Institute, located near the central prison in Matadi, due to security risks for students and teaching staff. The provincial secretary of SYECO, Dumbi Tsimba Georges, stated that steps had already been taken to move the school away from the prison following escapes in 2022 and 2023. The provincial education minister's office confirmed receipt of the requests, and technical studies are underway to consider relocating the school.
