Boualem Sansal Seeks to Take Algeria’s President to Court

Algerian author Boualem Sansal announced his intention to sue Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune after being released from detention in November. Sansal was sentenced to five years in prison in 2025 for his criticisms of the Algerian government, and he accuses the regime of using charges of terrorism and espionage against him. His lawyer is preparing a file to bring the case before international justice.
