Strait of Hormuz: Which routes do ships take?

Transits through the Strait of Hormuz have been altered by the Middle East conflict. Two main routes are used: the Iranian route (32% of traffic) and the Omani route (23%). About 46% of ships transit with their transponders off. At least five merchant ships have been attacked since the June 17 agreement between Washington and Tehran.
