Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan's husband dies

Hafidh Ameir Hassan, the husband of Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan, died at Emilio Mzena Memorial Hospital in Zanzibar while receiving treatment for a heart condition. Vice President Deogratius Ndejembi announced his death at 08:00 local time and stated that funeral arrangements are underway in Kizimkazi. Ameir, who married Hassan in 1978, was an agricultural academic and served as Tanzania's first First Gentleman.
