Cameroon: A 2022 World Cup returnee, five newcomers and controversial Etta Eyong omission… Pagou’s squad will spark debate

David Pagou has named a 28-man Cameroon squad for the two matches against Namibia on November 12 and 16 in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Carlos Baleba returns after missing September’s camp through injury, while Christian Kofane is unavailable with a thigh injury. Karl Etta Eyong’s omission has raised questions: recently back from a thigh injury, he scored for Levante against Athletic Bilbao, but Pagou has not explained why he was left out. Dorinel Yondjo, Nsongo Tonfack, Geovanni Vianney Agbor Ndjee and Ivan Cédric Bikoue Embolo are among the forwards selected.
