FG eyes 40m homes, N600bn as digital switch over takes off

The Nigerian Federal Government has launched the Digital Switch Over programme, targeting 40 million homes and unlocking over N600 billion in economic value. The launch in Abuja featured Minister of Communications Bosun Tijani and NBC Director-General Charles Ebuebu. Tijani highlighted the project includes 90,000 km of fiber optic expansion and satellite deployment to improve connectivity. Ebuebu said the program will democratize access to information and stimulate investment in the broadcasting value chain.
