Mali Embassy in Morocco: Over 625 Million FCFA Missing from Accounts (BVG)

A report from the General Auditor's Office reveals over 625,938,181 FCFA in financial irregularities in the management of the Malian embassy in Cairo from 2022 to March 2026. The main losses include 361,066,488 FCFA of unaccounted foreign exchange gains, 222,317,960 FCFA of fictitious expenses, and 26,349,695 FCFA of undue expenses, such as inflated rent and fake school fees. Former ambassador Boubacar Diallo and the former accounting secretary Ebbatna Ould Abderahamane are mentioned, while the current ambassador Samba Alhamdou Baby's management is not involved. The case has been referred to the prosecutor of the National Economic and Financial Pole.
