Lagos environmental taskforce clears 1004 estate, discovers drugs, cash cache

Clearance operations are ongoing at the 1004 Housing Estate in Lagos as part of efforts to maintain environmental sanitation, restore order, and enforce compliance with environmental regulations. Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said on Wednesday that the exercise focuses on removing obstructions, clearing environmental nuisances, and addressing activities that hinder the free movement of pedestrians and vehicles. During the operation, enforcement operatives discovered and seized illicit drugs, cash, and other suspected dangerous items. Authorities said monitoring and enforcement activities will continue to ensure compliance and prevent recurrence of environmental infractions.
