In New Delhi, heavy police barricades surrounded Connaught Place as authorities detained groups of protesters from the Gen-Z movement and Cockroach Janta Party demanding the resignation of India’s election chief, Gyanesh Kumar. The government has fortified the city with nearly 30,000 personnel, canceled all trains to Delhi, and shut over 50 metro stations. CJP leaders, including Abhijeet Dipke, were detained upon arrival at the airport, amid protests against a controversial voter list revision that removed 130 million names.

Kasaï-Central Provincial Deputies Concerned About Delay in Kananga-Kalamba Mbuji Road Works

A delegation of Kasaï-Central provincial deputies met on October 8 in Kinshasa with ACGT officials to discuss the eight-month delay in the construction of the Kananga-Kalamba Mbuji road. Concerns were raised about project progress, the usability of certain sections, crossing structures, and project management costs. ACGT's CEO, Nico Nzau Nzau, acknowledged the delay and said measures will be taken to mitigate it, potentially causing a slight delay in the project's 2027 completion date. Some temporary works are in place to maintain traffic until permanent structures are built. Nearly six million dollars are allocated to support communities along the route.
