Hydrocarbons: Côte d'Ivoire signs 8 oil contracts with Petrobras

On September 17, 2026, Côte d'Ivoire signed eight Production Sharing Contracts with Brazilian group Petrobras for offshore oil blocks CI-513, CI-600, CI-601, CI-602, CI-603, CI-605, CI-701, and CI-702. This signing, regarded as a first in the country's oil history, was celebrated by Minister of Mines Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly. Petrobras plans to invest over 250 billion CFA francs for seismic studies and exploration drilling in underexplored areas.
