‘I want to vote for her’: Cape Flats boy makes homemade ID for ActionSA candidate

Nine-year-old Ethan from Mitchells Plain made a homemade identity document to show that he wants to vote for ActionSA mayoral candidate Dereleen James. In a video circulating on Facebook, he says he hopes she can help tackle crime and gang activity affecting Cape Flats communities. James met Ethan during a campaign walkabout and said the encounter motivated her to continue working for safer communities. She says that improving safety also requires better service delivery, opportunities for young people and action on drug abuse.
