Russell edges out Verstappen to win in Baku, Antonelli settles for fifth

George Russell won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, finishing 0.196 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen after two safety car phases. Kimi Antonelli, his Mercedes teammate, finished fifth, helping to limit the points gap in the championship. This was Russell's eighth career win and third of the season, reducing his deficit to Italian leader Antonelli to 15 points after 15 rounds. Antonelli, who started 16th following a rare qualifying error, had a slower recovery race compared to his previous epic drives.
