2027: Amaechi will withdraw at 11 a.m. on election day, alleging rigging, Wike claims

Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, predicted that African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential running mate Rotimi Amaechi might withdraw from the race at 11 a.m. on January 16, 2027, claiming the election had been rigged. Speaking at Bola Tinubu’s campaign rally in Rivers State, Wike said Amaechi had failed to secure 15 percent of the vote when he served as campaign director general for Muhammadu Buhari. Wike also challenged Amaechi to account for the $39 million allocated to the Karibi Whyte Specialist Hospital and mocked his claim that fumigation had eliminated mosquitoes in Rivers State.
