2027: INEC puts preliminary voters’ register online, final version due December 15

Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has posted the preliminary voters’ register for the 2027 general election online after stakeholders called for digital access. The register, displayed at Registration Areas from October 9 to 15 under the Electoral Act 2026, is available at display.inecnigeria.org. Commissioner Mohammed Kudu Haruna said the online release supplements the physical display and that the commission is still processing claims and objections. INEC plans to certify and publish the final register on December 15, 2026.

ADC fires back at APC over unpaid salary claims

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) rejected claims that it had unpaid salaries as false and politically motivated, challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to provide evidence. In a statement, ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi accused the APC of diverting attention from Nigeria’s rising cost of living, unemployment and insecurity. He urged the ruling party to defend Bola Tinubu’s government record and present solutions instead of attacking the opposition ahead of the 2027 election.
