Tension escalated in Osogbo, Osun State, as residents looted a warehouse linked to the Global Food Initiative, a cheap food scheme whose operators reportedly disappeared after customers paid millions of naira for food items. Customers paid up to 1.2 million nairas for various food products, expecting lower prices, but found the operators missing. Police were deployed to prevent law and order breakdown after attempts to break into the storeroom. Some investors had deposited up to 35 million nairas for different food items, and efforts are underway to get the operators to return.
