Anges Paterne Amoussouga, Secretary General of Cotonou City Hall, submitted his resignation on September 30, 2026, citing personal reasons. The city hall confirmed the resignation, but he will remain in office until October 31, 2026, to facilitate the transition and prepare handover documents. The resignation does not absolve him of management responsibilities, and legal controls remain in effect. Amoussouga, who was randomly selected in April 2023, officially took office in May 2023.
