The MONUSCO report states that AFC/M23 maintains extensive control over large parts of North Kivu, with fighting concentrated in Masisi and Walikale. The clashes, supported by Rwanda, oppose this rebellion to the FARDC, which also receives support, and continue with the use of heavy weapons and drones. The security situation remains concerning in South Kivu, especially around Minembwe, where FARDC and allied groups are fighting AFC/M23, causing population displacements and disrupting humanitarian aid.
