2027: Makinde pledges to revive South-East industries

Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate Seyi Makinde pledged to tackle high interest rates and expand access to long-term financing to revive South-East industries if elected in 2027. At a meeting with regional stakeholders in Enugu, the Oyo State governor described manufacturing, including in Onitsha and Nnewi, as a driver of growth and job creation. Makinde also backed skills training and support for entrepreneurs as ways to reduce youth unemployment.
