Okonjo-Iweala loses her mother as Tinubu pays tribute

President Bola Tinubu offered condolences to the Okonjo royal family of Ogwashi-Uku in Delta State after Professor Kamene Okonjo died at age 96. He extended particular sympathy to her daughter, World Trade Organization Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as well as to the family and community. Tinubu praised Okonjo as an accomplished scholar, advocate for women’s empowerment and respected matriarch whose life was devoted to service, family and community. He prayed for her eternal rest and comfort for those mourning her.
