CAS verdict: Former Moroccan international Mustapha Hadji makes an intriguing statement

With the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s verdict expected in late November, Mustapha Hadji says Morocco legitimately won the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations by forfeit after Senegal’s players temporarily left the field during the final. He accuses referee Jean-Jacques Ndala of making a serious error by allowing play to resume after the Senegalese players walked off following a stoppage-time penalty awarded to Morocco. Senegal had won the match 1–0 after extra time, but the CAF appeals jury later changed the result to a 3–0 forfeit victory for Morocco. Senegal is challenging the decision, which the CAS in Lausanne will review.
