KAA to Review Concession and Cargo Charges at JKIA and Other Airports

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) is preparing to review concession and cargo charges at JKIA, Wilson, Moi, Kisumu and Eldoret airports. It aims to update a fee schedule established under a 1996 order to reflect market values and rising operating, maintenance and infrastructure development costs. Current charges include turnover-based fees of 7 to 12 per cent for some ground handlers and 10 per cent for duty-free shops. KAA has not announced new rates or confirmed whether fees will rise, and has invited affected stakeholders and the public to take part in the consultation.
