Yobe IPAC crisis deepens as ousted chairman and secretary reject impeachment

Yobe IPAC chairman Umar Adamu Jajere and secretary-general Mustapha Gado have challenged their removal, saying it has no legal effect. In a joint statement, they said the meeting lacked the required quorum, its participants were not duly accredited, and rules on convening the meeting and giving notice were not followed. They also said no disciplinary process or investigation took place before their removal and urged authorities to continue recognizing them as the council’s legitimate leaders. The faction that announced their ouster had not responded by the time the report was filed.
