Kim Jong Un arrives in China, South Korean media report

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived on Saturday in the Chinese border city of Dandong via the new Yalu River Bridge, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported, citing a government source. The bridge, completed in 2014, officially opened about a week before the visit after delays over missing connecting roads and customs facilities on the North Korean side. China is North Korea’s largest trading partner and a key source of diplomatic, economic and political support. Kim’s last known visit to China was in September 2025 for the 80th Victory Day celebrations in Beijing, where he met President Xi Jinping.
