Clashes between the FRN and the army: Runambi Primary School, relocated to Kibarizo in Masisi, struggles to operate normally

More than a month into the 2026–2027 school year, Runambi Primary School, relocated to Kibarizo in the territory of Masisi, North Kivu, is still struggling to resume normal activities. The school was moved because of frequent clashes between FRN rebels and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, backed by their Wazalendo allies. Director Célestin Bagira says the school lacks desks and essential supplies, forcing teachers to make do with limited resources. Support with school equipment and supplies is needed to improve learning conditions.
