Youths allegedly attack journalists, CSO members in Edo community

Members of Civil Society Organisations and journalists reportedly escaped an alleged attack by youths from the Ologbo community in Ikpoba-Okha, Edo, on August 27, 2026. The incident occurred as they were attending the activation of a unit of the Ossiomo Power Company. The youths held the visitors hostage for nearly an hour, angry over their presence without authorization. The timely intervention of security personnel helped protect the visitors from a potentially more severe attack.
