In 2024, Uganda reported importing 3,175 kilograms of raw gold from Cameroon, valued at $248.18 million, while no gold exports to Uganda are recorded in Cameroonian statistics. This situation recalls similar anomalies regarding exports to Saudi Arabia. The 2023 ITIE report indicates that national gold production reached 952.77 kilograms, while imports declared by Cameroon’s trading partners far exceed this production.
