Taraba moves to decongest Jalingo Custodial Centre, considers amnesty for deserving inmates

The Taraba State Government has initiated efforts to decongest the Jalingo Custodial Centre, which currently houses over 500 inmates despite a capacity of 250. A delegation led by Attorney-General Yakubu Maikasuwa visited the facility to assess the situation and emphasized the need for urgent intervention. Controller of Corrections John Francis called for non-custodial measures and a review of pending cases to reduce the inmate population.
