Tanzanian Waste-to-Fish-Feed Firm Selected for Nature Protection Programme

NovFeed, a Tanzanian firm co-founded in 2020 by Diana Orembe and Otaigo Elisha, uses microbial fermentation to turn organic waste into protein-rich fish feed and natural fertilizer. Its products are sold through more than 300 shops and distributors in Tanzania, offering local alternatives to imported fish feed and fertilizer. NovFeed was selected as one of five African businesses for the first cohort of the 12-month Nature-First Innovation Lab, which aims to prepare the companies to raise a collective target of about USD 10 million. The programme will help the firm strengthen its investor materials and expand its operations.
