Prominent Kogi monarch, Eleta of Iyara, dies at 75

The Iyara community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State is mourning the death of their traditional ruler, Oba (Engr.) Jacob Babatunde Meduteni, the Eleta Oluyara of Iyara Land. Aged 75, he reportedly died peacefully in his palace after battling an undisclosed illness. Oba Meduteni was appointed as king in 2023 and had a distinguished career in engineering and corporate management before dedicating himself to community service.
