2027: Tamper with election results and you’ll be counted, Aisha Yesufu warns INEC

Aisha Yesufu, a chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), warned Nigeria’s electoral commission, INEC, that anyone who tries to alter the results of the 2027 general elections will face resistance. She made the remarks on X on Wednesday in response to Arise Television Morning Show anchor Rufai Oseni’s comment about the U.S. midterm elections. Yesufu urged INEC to accurately count votes cast by Nigerians and reflect them in the final results, saying people were done begging for their rights to be respected. Her comments come as opposition figures and other political stakeholders call for transparent and credible elections in 2027.
