ADC Candidate Accuses APC Supporters of Attacking Women

Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Sokoto State, says suspected APC supporters disrupted a peaceful rally of about 5,000 women and youths on Tuesday. He alleges that women were injured, veils were torn, ADC vehicles were damaged and valuables were stolen, and urged police to investigate allegations involving S.A. Bajare and Abdulrashid Baraka. Malami Muhammad Galadanchi Bajare, an adviser to Governor Ahmed Aliyu, denied the claims and said ADC members attacked APC youths and seized two motorcycles, one of which was later returned. He added that police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps officers witnessed the incident involving supporters of both parties.
