CAF acting secretary general Samson Adamu asked national associations to recommend whether the Africa Cup of Nations should be held every two or four years. Responses were due by 28 October, ahead of the Executive Committee’s review. The consultation follows CAF president Patrice Motsepe’s remarks on 9 October that the confederation was reconsidering the switch to a four-year cycle announced in December 2025. Discussions include African football finances, players’ interests and the international calendar; the proposed African Nations League may take several years to generate significant revenue.
