Benin ranks 27th in Africa and 161st worldwide in the Productivity Capacity Index (PCI) published by UN Conference on Trade and Development on September 14. Despite an economic growth of around 6% between 2016 and 2024, the country still needs to improve skills, infrastructure, and local product transformation. The ranking indicates that only Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa, and Cape Verde score above 50 out of 100 in productive capacity in Africa.
