Algeria-Morocco: “I hope Klopp rates me, but…” Maza explains why he would not have made Ebnoutalib’s choice

Ibrahim Maza scored and assisted in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 win over Freiburg on Sunday, with Jürgen Klopp watching from the stands. Born in Berlin and developed through Germany’s youth teams, the 20-year-old chose Algeria in September 2024 and says he is proud of that decision, despite hoping Klopp considers him a good player. His path contrasts with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Younes Ebnoutalib, also born in Germany, who recently chose Germany over Morocco, with Klopp’s personal intervention reportedly influencing his decision.
