All Saints’ Day: What to know about the celebration often confused with the Day of the Dead

Celebrated by the Catholic Church on November 1, All Saints’ Day honours all saints, whether officially canonized or not. It reminds Christians that holiness is a calling for everyone and conveys a message of hope through the example of the saints. The Commemoration of the Faithful Departed takes place on November 2, when families pray for deceased loved ones, visit their graves, leave flowers and care for the burial sites.
