The APC South East Integrity Movement has asked Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma to explain the indefinite postponement of local government elections after preparations were reportedly complete. In a statement issued in Enugu on November 3, 2026, and signed by Chijioke Afamefuna, the group urged APC’s national leadership to investigate and warned that the party would not tolerate anti-party activity ahead of the 2027 general elections. Citing the Supreme Court’s July 2024 ruling on local government autonomy, it called for local government funds to be administered in line with the ruling and for elected councils, not caretaker arrangements, to be in place. It also urged APC to apply its position consistently across states, including amid the dispute over local government allocations in Osun State.
