A 16-year-old killed three children, aged five, eight and 11, and a teacher in a shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, on Thursday afternoon. Police said the suspect forced his way through locked doors by shooting at their locks, then was shot dead by a community member who pursued him into the school. A seven-year-old child and a 54-year-old teacher were taken to hospital in critical condition. Schools across Bend were closed on Friday as the investigation continued; police have not released the identities of the victims, suspect or bystander.
