Benin: Deadline Set for Commercial Plot Holders Along the Route des Pêches

The Commission responsible for commercial plots along the Route des Pêches, between Marie Stella and Adounko, requires holders to begin construction by December 31, 2026. Those who fail to start will lose their rights without prior notice, their construction lease will become void, and their plot may be reassigned. The deadlines to sign the lease and submit a building-permit application—January 31 and June 30, 2026—have already passed. Projects must be completed by December 31, 2028; no extensions will be granted, and the deposit will be forfeited in cases of delay, abandonment, or non-compliance.
