Benin: EBRD plans CFAF 13 billion for Cotonou Port infrastructure

The Port of Cotonou could receive a €20 million loan, equivalent to about CFAF 13.12 billion, from the EBRD, with approval expected on November 18, 2026. The €23 million program includes offices for the port authority, recruitment and vocational training centers for dockworkers, and truck parking areas. It aims to improve port efficiency and safety while reducing water and energy use and promoting the reuse of materials. Technical assistance will also support governance, procurement and workforce inclusion, and a market consultation is scheduled for November 10.
