Borno Community Urges Tinubu and Zulum to Bring Its 78 Children Home

The Margi community in Borno State has urged President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babagana Zulum to step up efforts to rescue 78 students and a teacher abducted in Mussa and Lassa, in Askira/Uba Local Government Area. Forty-three pupils were taken from Mussa on May 15, 2026, and 35 students and a teacher were abducted in Lassa on June 26 as they prepared for national examinations. Community Secretary Malla Gadzama called for greater security and intelligence efforts, regular updates for families, and better protection for vulnerable schools. The community also urged local elected representatives to keep up pressure on the authorities and called for medical, psychological and educational support for the victims when they return.
