BREAKING: Five men appear in court over Military Road double murder

Five men aged 27 to 40 appeared in Wynberg Magistrate’s Court in connection with the killing of two men, aged 23 and 37, who were shot on Military Road in Steenberg last week. Initially arrested for possessing unlicensed firearms after a high-speed chase on October 13, they were remanded in custody pending a formal bail application. Police said Anti-Gang Unit detectives obtained evidence linking the suspects to the double murder, and the men are due back in court on October 29. The suspects allegedly fled in a red VW Polo, abandoned it in Kirstenhof, then hijacked a Toyota RunX, in which two assault rifles were recovered.
