Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, inaugurated a public rice-processing plant in Bagré on October 20, financed with state funds. Managed by Faso Agropôles (SOFA), the facility can process up to 100 tonnes of paddy rice per day and is intended to support local rice processing and the milling of stored stocks. It could provide farmers with a market for their harvests and advance the 2025 agropastoral initiative to expand agricultural production and domestic processing capacity.
