Calm returns to Lodja, Otse and Bule after attacks blamed on CODECO and CRP

Calm returned on Tuesday, October 27, to the villages of Lodja and Otse in Djugu territory after an incursion attributed to CODECO militiamen. Charité Banza, president of the Bahema-Nord civil society group, said the attackers fired several shots and burned more than a dozen houses, causing panic among residents and recently resettled displaced people. In Bule, the FARDC said it repelled an attack by CRP fighters after an exchange of gunfire; no casualty toll was available. The violence disrupted classes and some commercial activities, while human rights advocates called for stronger civilian protection.
