Cameroon – Douala: 4 dead and 16 seriously injured in new Metafrique fire

A fire at METAFRIQUE STEEL S.A.’s facilities in the Bassa industrial zone of Douala on Monday, November 2, killed four people and seriously injured 16, according to the official toll. The injured were taken to Douala General Hospital for treatment. The governor of the Littoral Region announced an investigation to establish the fire’s cause and circumstances. In a statement, the company said the fire appeared to have an external origin, while noting that its cause remains undetermined.
