Chikadibia Family Awaits Justice 18 Months After Alleged Police Raid

Eighteen months after Sunday Chikadibia and his three daughters were arrested in a controversial police operation in Abia State, the family is still awaiting a decision on its demands for justice and compensation. RULAAC is seeking the findings of an investigation into the April 12, 2025 operation, accountability for any officials found responsible, restitution of missing cash and property, and compensation for the demolished home. The family alleges that officers took belongings, destroyed the house and that more than 3.5 million naira was withdrawn from its bank accounts during their detention; the claims have not been independently verified. The family members were released following government intervention, but RULAAC says their release has not resolved questions about their arrest, detention and prosecution.
