‘Close up your borders’: Trump blames French unrest on immigration

Donald Trump again blamed immigration for protests and violence that have rocked France in recent days, urging Emmanuel Macron and Europe to close their borders. Weekend demonstrations against soaring prices in Paris and other cities descended into some of France’s worst street violence in recent years. Trump said he had warned Macron that France was letting “everybody” enter and predicted Paris would soon become a Muslim city. He also urged Europe to remove criminals, as combating illegal immigration remains a central political pledge for Trump.
