Cocoa and forests in Côte d’Ivoire: CFAF 47 billion targeted to curb deforestation

Members of the Cocoa and Forests Initiative’s technical committee met in Abidjan on October 20, 2026, and approved priorities for 2026–2030, targeting more than CFAF 47 billion in investment. From 2022 to 2025, 214,143 hectares of forest were restored, 927,804 hectares of agroforestry systems were developed, and 33 million trees were distributed. Traceability now covers 98% of cocoa sourced directly by participating companies, while 1.12 million farms have been mapped. The reported results also include more than 2.5 million farmers trained or informed and 558,160 women supported toward economic independence.
