Cornell faculty began a no-confidence vote on October 29 over the university leadership’s handling of a case that has prompted public outrage about sexual assault on campuses. The non-binding vote is expected to run through November 6 and could indicate that faculty have lost confidence in President Michael Kotlikoff. A lawsuit filed last month alleges that a student identified as Jane Doe was drugged and gang raped by seven male students at a fraternity house in 2024. Cornell initially shut down the fraternity and suspended the students; two were later expelled.
