Court Allows ICPC to Show Selected CCTV Footage in El-Rufai’s Lawsuit

The Federal High Court in Abuja allowed the ICPC to show selected CCTV footage in former governor Nasir El-Rufai’s 10 billion naira lawsuit, limiting each side to 20 minutes. Justice Chigozie Onah rejected a public screening of the full six-hour recording, citing limited court time and the risk of exposing sensitive security information at the commission’s premises. He also denied El-Rufai’s request to summon two ICPC officials for cross-examination and adjourned the substantive hearing to November 3. El-Rufai alleges the ICPC prevented his wife, Aichatou Asabe, and son, Abba, from visiting him in custody; the commission disputes his claims and says he is being held under a court order.
